St
Jean d'Angély is just a stroll away
At the corner of our field lies the Parc des Loisirs, with
its boating lake, mini-golf, adventure playground, swimming
pools, fishing, skateboard park, beach-side bar and restaurant,
set in acres of landscaped garden. Across the bridge is our
town, with its markets, shops, bars and wonderfull inexpensive
restaurants.
Rub shoulders with history as you wander through the town
that played host to John the Baptist’s head, was plundered
by the Normans, granted a Royal Charter by England's King
John and in 1562 almost destroyed by the Huguenots. Visit
the Museum, Abbey, Gothic church, Covered Market (originally
a Herb Market!) – the list is endless.

In addition to the above, handily situated between
us and the Parc des Loisirs is Atlantys,
a £4m water-sports complex.
Superb water activities including competition, leisure
and deep diving pools, Gym and fitness training on our
doorstep.

Fame
in a Bottle (or two!)
It is arguable whether France is more famous for her food
or her drink. Certainly some of the most famous drinks of
France come from our region. Tour the famous cognac houses
of Martell, Hennessey etc. If you would like some local advice
ask us - we are licensed in France to sell our excellent local
wines, as well as Pineau des Charentes, a marvellous aperitif
made from grape juice and eau de vie and fine Cognac, in addition
to a full range of excellent, reasonably priced organic wines,
personally tasted and selected by us (it's a tough job but
someone has to do it) from the many wine growing regions of
France. |
